Ivesia partnered with a healthcare service provider with hundreds of physicians, specialists and other providers working together towards meeting healthcare needs of patients in northern New England. Our customer provides care in almost every area of medicine. Serving as one of the oldest facilities in the New England region, our customer has been meeting the healthcare needs of patients for over two centuries.
BUSINESS OVERVIEW
Our customer had a notes application used by physicians, specialists and other providers towards recording and tracking patient information. The information included patient condition, treatment offered, medication prescribed, progress, discharge summary and more with physician sign-off. This gets communicated to various persons that include regular care physicians, primary care physicians, patients, labs and outside doctors. They sought to enhance the notes application with features like adding image storage capability, integrating a word processor as a notes writing tool and configuring a tool for providers to collaborate together on the notes application.
BUSINESS NEED
The customer’s needs included:
- l Storage and retrieval of images using intersystems cache database
- l Integrating Microsoft Word processor as a notes writing tool
- l Configuring Microsoft SharePoint as the collaboration tool
Though the customer wanted these enhancements, they were uncertain of their feasibility. Essentially, they needed working models of the solutions before making a decision on going ahead with these enhancements.
