Skills:

o Minimum 5 years experience in engineering is required
o Bachelors Degree in engineering is required or equivalent, proven work experience typically gained through 10-15 years in a technical / engineering-related role
o Strong understanding of engineering theory; related to designated engineering field with the ability to apply knowledge to assigned tasks
o Strong analytical, statistical and problem solving skills
o Comprehensive knowledge of plant operations and processes
o Product/program management skill; ability to solve complex problems that require considerable judgment
o Strong technical skills: manufacturing, product development, supplier interaction and statistical skills
o Extensive knowledge of metrics, competitive benchmarks, and standards
o High manufacturing engineering and product development technical skills
o Works under general supervison

Work with design, development, sample build, validation, application, and production launch teams in support of customer programs and organizational initiatives to improve quality and reduce cost, while ensuring reliability of products
o Collaborate across business functions to continually improve cost, quality and customer service
o Identify, direct and perform analysis as required to ensure product meets design requirements
o Ensure that customer requirements are accurately communicated, understood, and addressed in the product design.
o Solve problems using a disciplined and organized approach
o Collect and communicate competitive intelligence
o Evaluate failure modes of product with DFMEA approach.
o Maintain documentation of design activities, analysis, and validation
o Document innovative / patentable ideas
o Liaison with various organizational units; reviews progress and evaluated results; makes changes in methods, design or equipment where necessary
o Confers with other engineers to resolve problems
o Participates in and may lead cross-functional project teams
